Fat Freezing

Cryolipolysis is a safe way to hide the appearance of fat from as little as £69.

Process

Fat Freezing, also known as Cryolipolysis was first discovered through ice lollies. Doctors noted permanent dimples had appeared in the fragile fat of children’s cheeks after consuming large quantities of ice lollies, indicating that fat can be permanently removed from the body when subjected to isolated cold temperatures.

Of course the technique for Fat Freezing has developed a lot since this initial discovery, but the general notion behind it remains the same. This is how it works:

Stage 1

The unwanted fatty adipose tissue sits near the skin’s surface. This is targeted and suctioned into the handheld Fat Freezing device to be cooled.

Stage 2

The blue cells in this image represent the fat that has been damaged by the cool temperatures. The cells begin to break down and slowly leave the body via the lymphatic system, which is a natural and safe process in for the body to dispose of fat.

Stage 3

Within 15-20 days the damaged fat will have completely left the body and contours will have been significantly improved. Fat cells cannot reform once removed but, as not all fat cells are removed during the procedure, a healthy diet and exercise regimen must be maintained.

Frequently Asked Questions

One of the main benefits of Cryolipolysis is that there are rarely any side effects. There is no recovery period or downtime needed following treatment. Your skin will feel cold and partially numb in the area treated but will return quickly to its normal temperature, usually within an hour or so of the treatment.

People’s skin is often red and feels a little sore immediately after the treatment, and there may a small amount be localised bruising, but it is very rare to have extended redness or bruising afterwards, if any bruising its normally very light and gone after a week or so.

You should be able to resume normal daily activities without discomfort immediately after the session. Liposuction requires many weeks of downtime and discomfort, as this is no the case with Cryolipolysis.

Cryolipolysis is largely pain-free and comfortable, although some report light bruising on the days after treatment. A freeze membrane is put in place to protect the skin. The handpiece being applied then sucks the area up, some people report pulling on the skin but it is not painful. Once they are over the initial sensation we often have clients become so relaxed that they doze off during the treatment process.
